First post; What the hell is going on here?

Welcome to the first post in my new blog. I'm Ron, a computer nerd and gaming geek who is, as the title says, sneaking up on 40 years old.
Ever since high school I wanted to be a writer, but never had the time or discipline to get the job done. Now that I am sneaking up on middle age (yikes!), I thought I could use my experiences, tech skill, and sometimes sharp wit to create a blog. Hopefully this will help me hone my writing skills, and provide a bit of entertainment to anyone brave enough to read my ramblings.
